We will send out a flat-packed version of Google Cardboard as our DM. It will have instructions on how to build a virtual reality kit in simple steps.

 

The kit will give you a virtual reality experience of traveling on the new Dubai Water Canal.

 

You will be immersed in the sights and sounds you will see and hear when you take a Water Taxi, Water Bus, Ferry or Abra. The virtual reality tour will also include details of the route, modes of transport, timings and fare. 

RTA FACEBOOK CHECK-IN REWARDS

Facebook Places allows users to share their location with their friends and help them discover new places. We use Facebook Places to inform people about the benefits of marine transport through their friends.

Here’s how it will work. For a week running up to the RTA canal launch, we encourage everyone to leave their cars behind and escape rush hour using our marine transport.

​

The incentive - free parking along the water canal, complimentary refreshments and a chance to win flyboards, jet skis and even a yacht. All you have to do is check-in the carparks nearest to the Water Canal stations.

RTA WATER CANAL LAUNCH

Catch of the Day mobile app takes the user through a virtual fishing trip along the canal. As the user explores the extended blue way, different sized fish jump in and out of the water.

 

The player has to treat the phone exactly like a fishing rod, casting and reeling the virtual fish in through arm movement. Every fish caught is an actual daily offer from a shop, restaurant, cafe or leisure and entertainment place. The bigger the fish, the bigger the discount or offer.

For every deal caught, the app displays the easiest way to reach its location using RTA’s marine transport vessels on the canal.
