JazzCash

Pakistani mobile operator Jazz, parent company to digital payment solution platform JazzCash has surpassed 9 million monthly active users. JazzCash also says it is now processing over PKR 7 billion worth of transactions on a daily basis experiencing year-to-date growth of 50 percent in the number of transactions and 60 percent growth in value as compared to same period last year.

My role was to plan with senior executives to create the right user journeys, client interactions and create a solid Design Language System and design UI elements that are easily understood by and appeal to the Pakistani market, guide teams responsible for creating prototyping for user testing, documentation, design and copy style-guides, and client presentations.

Project Type

iOS and Android Mobile App

Role

Customer Experience Strategy

Product Designer

Challenge

To migrate functionality onto a better platform, and re-invent the user experience of their app, in the middle of a global pandemic.

Idea

Deliver a refreshed app, while safeguarding the best practices in customer experience, cloud and security, with stiff competition from international platforms.

To achieve this, I created a Design System Language, that is unique and authentic to JazzCash brand, to bring consistency, improve the workflow, bringing greater brand presence and scalability. Driving the ‘list of features’ into user journeys, powered by Design Thinking and tools like Figma, Slack and Mural at the core.

Cognitive Analysis

  • Has interface challenges and performs at levels below those of key peers

  • Provides customers with good finance features, partnering with Payoneer, a  digital payment services provider

  • Has low-performing digital container (website and mobile web deployment, functionality, and experience)

Performance Opportunities

  • Streamline and enhance complete product journeys

  • Optimize product pages, services and overall finance overview

  • Increase KPI performance, improve market position, and drive financial performance

Design Language System

I designed and built a collection of visual assets, a pattern library UI/UX and style guide for the wider team. These reusable components are guided by clear standards that allow the cohesive assembly of variable amounts of applications.

Ensured whole the team understands how to use the components and leave behind a useful walkthrough video to refer back to.
